Privacy Statement
Concierge Events Pty Limited (ABN 23 109 033 963) runs conciergeevents.com.au. We help people plan events by passing their requests to suitable suppliers. This statement explains what personal information we collect, why, who sees it and how you can control it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
The short version
- Suppliers see your event and service details, never your name, email, phone or address, until you accept a supplier’s quote and agree to share your details with that supplier.
- Our team checks every request before it goes to suppliers.
- We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
- You can see and update your details any time in My details, or ask us to delete them.
What we collect
- Your account: name, email, phone, and optionally your organisation, street address and postal address.
- Your requests: event details (type, date, suburb, state, number of guests) and the services you ask for, with any notes and budgets you add.
- Questions and bookings you send us through Ask Me, the restaurant booking form or the meeting request forms.
- Event organisers who list an event: the organisation, contact person, email and phone (kept private), and the event details you choose to publish.
- Suppliers and venues: business details, contact details, ABN, profile, categories, venue details and photos.
- Mailing list: your email, name if given, and when and where you agreed to join.
- Technical: a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your IP address, used only to stop spam and repeated failed sign-ins. Our web host also keeps standard server logs.
We collect information directly from you when you use the site. If you give us information about someone else (for example, a guest or a colleague), please make sure they’re happy for you to do so.
How we use it
- To run your account, your request lists and your quotes, and to keep you updated by email.
- To check your requests and send them, without your contact details, to matching suppliers.
- To answer your questions and arrange bookings.
- To review and publish event listings, and to manage suppliers and venues.
- To send our newsletter, only if you’ve confirmed you want it.
- To keep the site secure, prevent misuse and meet our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
- Suppliers: they receive the event and service details of a request, with a reference number, but not who you are. When you accept a quote and tick the box to share your details, that one supplier receives your name, email and phone so they can confirm the booking.
- The public: What’s On Where shows only the event details organisers choose to publish (such as the website, tickets link and a public enquiries email). Organisers’ private contact details are never shown.
- Our service providers: our web host and email service, who store and send information for us and may only use it to provide that service.
- When the law requires it, for example in response to a valid request from a court or law enforcement agency.
We aim to keep personal information in Australia. If a service provider we use stores information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it’s protected to the standard of the Australian Privacy Principles.
Emails and the newsletter
We send emails needed to provide the service, such as account confirmation, request summaries and quote updates. The newsletter is optional: you confirm by email before you’re added, and every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe here.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie (ce_session) to keep you signed in and remember your request list. It expires when you close your browser. We don’t use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google to download them.
Keeping it safe
Passwords are stored only as secure one-way hashes, sign-in is protected against repeated guessing, and only authorised staff can see customer contact details. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password and tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open and for as long as we need it for the purposes above, including record-keeping we’re required to do by law. Then we delete or de-identify it.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
You can update most of your details yourself in My details. To get a copy of the information we hold about you, correct something else, or ask us to delete your account, contact us or email events@conciergeevents.com.au. We’ll respond within 30 days.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or concern about your privacy, please contact us first at events@conciergeevents.com.au and we’ll do our best to resolve it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this statement
We’ll update this statement when the way we handle information changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant, we’ll tell account holders by email.
